Reason for Codename: Got it when he told his commanding officer he had never fired a gun and when he was taught how, he fired one and was unaffected by the recoil.

Personality/Background:
Recoil was born to parents that were too young and not ready to have a kid. They supported him, though, and even loved him a little. Then, they had the child they were ready for when he was eight, his sister, Catherine. Unfortunately, Catherine had an ability far beyond her control that none of them knew how to deal with. Cheryl and Jackson, unable to deal with the electricity Cathy exuded left her care when she was upset to Nate.
Already adoring his baby sister, Nate suffered her electric lashes for many years as she slowly gained more control and more affection from their parents as she did. However, as she gained more attention from them and more control, she needed her big brother less and less. Unused to his sudden free time and not having the social skills to meet and greet new friends, Nate falls into some bad things.
Eventually, he's arrested and his family leaves him out to dry fearing that his sister's ability will be discovered if they are investigated. Rather than prison, he chooses military service where he begins to learn, if not to be social, than at least a way to interact normally.
Then he meets Rhamiel Luz while he's on leave a little over a year after his service began.
Their relationship goes like this:
Luz saves him from the embarrassment of being short a dollar on his coffee.
Recoil saves Luz from a power hating bigot.
Luz saves Recoil from a downed sign that would have impaled him.
Recoil gets Luz away from the scene of the miraculous save to keep him from being injured.
Luz dreams of Recoil growing older and being FOREVER ALONE. He makes him espresso and invites him to breakfast.
Recoil goes with him and proceeds to write him letters while he's away.
